AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS

Legendary Musician Dr.M.Balamuralikrishna conferred Athira with the title of ‘VIOLIN QUEEN’ and the Honorary Post of ‘ASTHANA VIDWAN’ in association with Kalaranjani Trust, 2008.
Athira’s Concert Inaugurated the two new artistically created Platforms ‘Melathara’ and ‘Kalithara’ of Internationally Renowned Sculptor Sri .Kanai- Kunjiraman ,at Quilon Sopanam Complex, Kerala on May14th,2008.

Athira was honored by Honorable President of India Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam in association with ‘Indian Music Academy’ to recoginse young maestros of the country with ‘AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN MUSIC’ Athira was the youngest recipient of this prestigious recognition and Athira was the Only Indian Classical Violinist to be a recipient of this rare honor.2007
Athira won the prestigious INFOSYS – EDUCATION WORLD YOUNG ACHIEVER AWARD -2007 .Athira became the First Indian Musician to be the Winner of this acclaimed ‘National Level Competition’.2007
Honored with the “PRINCESS OF STRINGS AWARD” from ROTASIA, during ‘SOUTH EAST ASIAN ROTARACT CONFERENCE’ 2007.
Athira had the rare honor to be featured in the IMA’s JALSA 2007 - 12 city concert series featuring a LEGEND & LEGEND IN THE MAKING. Athira was featured along with Pandit .Jasraj in this prestigious Concert. Athira is the Youngest South Indian Classical Musician featured in this event.

Athira was featured in “BEST OF CHENNAI” among the Chennai’s Top Ten Best Performers list in the INDEPENDENCE DAY SPECIAL –2006 edition of `INDIA TODAY’. ATHIRA is the Youngest Performer & the Only Carnatic Violinist listed in this Top Ten Rating of Best Performers incorporating distinguished dancers, Instrumentalists, Musicians of Chennai Music Scenario.
ATHIRA was featured in the Column ‘LIVING LEGENDS & YOUNG MAESTROS’of ‘INDIA TODAY MAGAZINE’ along with Dr.K.J.Yesudas , P.T.Usha etc. Athira is the Only Carnatic Violinist featured in this Column.

Athira had the honour of presenting a unique World Music Night incorporating music genres of more than 20 nations including African, Japanese , Chinese , Irish , Spanish ,Egyptian , Arabian , Celtic etc for the year long ‘Millenium Celebrations in Kazakhzthan’ 2002 .L.ATHIRA composed and orchestrated the East –West Orchestral music for this unique thematic musical endeavour aiming at ‘INTEGRATION THROUGH CULTURE IN THE NEW MILLENIUM’ .

“BEST VIOLINIST OF 2001 AWARD” by “SREE CHITIRA THIRURAL SANGEETHA NATYA KALAKENDRA in 2001.
Athira performed a stunning record performance of 13hour long Non-Stop Violin Solo Concert as a tribute to ‘VIOLIN’ at the Observatory Hills, Trivandrum on January 28,2001.
She was awarded the “KAMUKARA FOUNDATION BEST CREATIVE CHILD PRODIGY AWARD” in 2001.
Represented India in the ‘International Children’s Assembly’ held at New Delhi,2001.
